Goals 2021

Goals 2021

This year I have expanded from one to three goals. One wasn’t enough this year, I wanted to do more.

They are, in no particular order:

1. Draw something every week

First goal is to draw something every week. The hope is this will make me a bit better at drawing. To keep my self focus on the task, I have decided to try to stick with drawing dogs. That way I hope I at least I will be good at drawing dogs if nothing else.

2. Learn to play the Didgeridoo again

About twenty years ago, when I was a teenager, me and a friend bought didgeridoos and an evenings lesson for how to play them. I didn’t learn how to play that evening, but after many days of blowing into the plastic tube I managed to make the drone sound. I wanted to advance and learn circular breathing so I could play for a long time, but I didn’t have the discipline or any access to good online tutorials.

Playing the didgeridoo fell to the wayside and I never felt it was right to pick it up again while living in an apartment. I didn’t want to bother my neighbors with badly made didgeridoo sounds. But now when I live in my own house I thought it was time to get the hang of it. Now I can practice without bothering any neighbors (only my wife and dog).

So my second goal is to learn playing again and get the hang of circular breathing. With circular breathing I should be able to play longer than one breath at the time.

3. Look into learning to play the Piano

Beside the didgeridoo I would like to learn to play the piano. But I have no sense of how difficult it would be for me to do it. So before I decide to commit myself to learning the piano, I will look into what resources and tools there are out there to help my learn and try to get a sense of how difficult it would be. A very simple task to have as a third goal, but one that I feel is needed.
